MAX IV and ESS-based imaging for medical and biomedical research

This is a 4-module, 6 ESTC elective course that targets PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the medical and biomedical or life science fields.

What will I learn?
You will learn how you can use MAX IV and ESS facilities  in biomedical research as well as to prepare samples for imaging experiments and apply for experimental time at  MAX IV and ESS.

How is the course designed?
Online lectures and seminars will include basic tutorials on the principles of synchrotron-based imaging, as well as applications of imaging methods to a variety of medical and biomedical subjects.

Half-day seminar / Teaser for the course package

About
Are you curious on how MAX IV and ESS can be used for medical research and innovation? This half day seminar will give an introduction to the different techniques such as infrared microscopy, x-ray tomography, scanning X-ray fluorescence, solution and surface scattering of x-rays and neutrons from biological samples, which will be available at MAX IV and ESS. During the seminar examples of medical and biomedical research projects will be used to illustrate the use of the different techniques. 

The seminar can be used as the first part of course module I in the ‘MAX IV and ESS-based imaging for medical and biomedical research’, course package at Lund university.
